Bangkok, Thailand – Soldiers wade through deep floodwater at night to deliver food and drinking water to residents in a flooded Bangkok neighborhood.
Video released by the Royal Thai Army shows knee-to-thigh-deep water covering a residential street in the Ban Ratchathani community in Khlong Chan. Under a red pop-up tent, volunteers and residents hand out packed meals and bottled water from a table standing in the flood.
People wade through the water around the makeshift distribution point as a soldier carries bags through the flooded street.
A second clip shows a large army cargo truck stopped in the same lane. Soldiers walk through the water carrying yellow dry bags and white supply packs, while a resident watches from a rooftop.
The Royal Thai Army said Cavalry Battalion 4 sent troops and a heavy truck with Bang Kapi district staff and civilian volunteers to distribute food and drinking water after dark on September 28.
The operation came as severe flooding continued across Khlong Chan and Bang Kapi. Water in the residential flats remained around 1 to 1.5 meters deep, while some roads remained closed to vehicles.
