Snohomish County, WA – A 35-year-old man was arrested after deputies found him hiding inside a dumpster while trying to flee police.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic violence call near the 12400 block of Highway 99. Investigators developed probable cause to arrest the man on suspicion of fourth-degree domestic violence assault, but he left before deputies could locate him.

The man was already known to law enforcement, prompting one deputy to tell colleagues that the suspect “likes dumpsters.”

Deputies began checking trash containers in the surrounding area, knowing the suspect reportedly preferred hiding in dumpsters.

A concerned citizen then alerted officers after seeing the man enter a nearby dumpster.

Body-camera footage shows deputies surrounding the container and ordering the suspect to come out. He eventually emerged from the trash container and was arrested without further incident.
