Trinity County, Texas – Dashcam video filmed by Sheriff Woody Wallace shows a Trinity County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopping on a foggy two-lane road at night after spotting a doe lying in the grass beside the pavement.

The deputy stands beside the road with a flashlight and looks down at the animal. Suddenly, the deer rises, turns into the weeds and runs off the shoulder into the darkness.

The deputy steps back as the patrol vehicle’s headlights remain on the now-empty roadside.

The encounter happened in Trinity County, East Texas, on August 28, 2026. The dashcam footage, timestamped 23:04, shows the deputy checking the deer before it suddenly stood and fled into the woods.

Sheriff Woody Wallace posted the video and said no animals were harmed and the doe made a full recovery.

Instead of a citation, the “suspect” made a four-legged getaway and vanished into the East Texas woods.
