USCENTCOM Forces Target Houthi Terrorists in Yemen

Since March 15, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces have launched a sustained campaign against the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen. The goal is to restore freedom of navigation and reinforce American deterrence. These operations are carried out using precise intelligence to ensure lethal effects against the Houthis while minimizing civilian risk.

To preserve operational security, details of ongoing and future operations are not disclosed. USCENTCOM is deliberate in its approach and will not reveal specifics about past or future actions.

The U.S. will continue to intensify pressure on the Houthis, aiming to further dismantle their capabilities as long as they obstruct freedom of navigation.

Since Operation Rough Rider began, USCENTCOM has struck over 800 targets. These strikes have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Houthi fighters and leaders, including senior officials in missile and UAV operations.

The strikes have also destroyed several command-and-control centers, air defense systems, weapons manufacturing sites, and weapons storage facilities. These facilities contained advanced conventional weapons, including anti-ship missiles, drones, and uncrewed vessels, all used in Houthi attacks on international shipping lanes.

Though the Houthis have continued to target U.S. vessels, the effectiveness of their attacks has been significantly reduced. Ballistic missile launches have dropped by 69%, and drone attacks have decreased by 55%.

U.S. operations also destroyed Ras Isa Port’s ability to accept fuel, impacting the Houthis’ operations and revenue generation for their terror activities.

The operation involves a strong force, including the Harry S. Truman and Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Groups. USCENTCOM is proud of its forces, who have effectively conducted precise and lethal strikes on Houthi military capabilities.

Iran continues to support the Houthis, enabling their attacks on U.S. forces.

The U.S. will continue applying pressure until its objective is achieved: restoring freedom of navigation and maintaining American deterrence in the region.
