Iran Claims U.S. Strike Hit Wedding In Hormozgan, Killing At Least Four

Kuhestak, Iran – Nighttime footage shows a damaged residential building after what the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran says was a U.S. strike on a wedding in Kuhestak, Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, on September 1, 2026.

The video shows dust hanging in the air, blown-out walls and windows, and debris covering the ground. People move through the wreckage with flashlights as one figure stands near a doorway.

Iranian officials initially said at least two people were killed and 50 wounded. Later figures from the Iranian Red Crescent and provincial authorities put the death toll at four or five, including a child, with more than 50 wounded, most of them women and children.

Official lists named 4-year-old Amir Ali Karimi and 16-year-old Mohammad Malahi among those killed. The bride’s father, Ali Mallahi, said the house belonged to him and that the wedding was for his daughter.

U.S. Central Command said it was aware of the reports and stated that U.S. forces do not target civilians. It said the strikes that night targeted IRGC air-defense, radar, maritime, mine-laying and communications sites following attempted attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The intended target in Kuhestak was not specified by the United States. Iran also reported damage to communications towers in the area.
