Pinnacles National Park, California – H-70 was requested on August 9, 2026, for a hoist rescue involving an injured 13-year-old hiker at Pinnacles National Park.

H-70 used a Paso Robles Fire Department Helicopter Rescue Technician for the operation and inserted the rescuer at the victim’s location.

The Rescue Technician secured the victim in a rescue device before the hiker was hoisted out with the rescuer.

Footage shows CHP crew members in white helmets with orange stripes managing the hoist cable from the helicopter’s open door. Radio calls are audible throughout the operation.

The victim and rescuer were later lowered near a landing zone and delivered to a nearby ambulance for further care.
