Chocó, Colombia – Nighttime video shows Colombian USAR teams working without rest in collapsed structures after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia.

Rescuers cut through concrete and rebar with power tools, with sparks flying as they work through the debris. Teams enter narrow voids and elevator shafts, remove rubble by hand and coordinate their efforts using maps and plans under artificial lights.

A search dog is also deployed as rescuers use physical searches, technology and canine units in their efforts to find people alive. Crowds of onlookers and other emergency personnel can be seen nearby.

The magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck on the morning of August 10, 2026, with its epicenter near San José del Palmar in the department of Chocó. The quake caused widespread damage and significant casualties across several cities.
