Asturias, Spain – Drone video captures hundreds of colorful kayaks and canoes packed across the River Sella during the 88th edition of the International Descent of the Sella.

Dense crowds of spectators fill both riverbanks, while a bridge stretches above the packed water.

Later footage shows tight formations of boats moving along the river, with a parallel road packed with people walking and vehicles beneath tree-covered hills.

The 2026 event was held on Saturday, August 8, on the River Sella between Arriondas and Ribadesella.

The Guardia Civil provided security for the event with a large deployment, including more than 310 officers from various units.

The footage was captured by the UAS/C-UAS drone group from the Guardia Civil Air Service.
