Balıkesir, Turkey – Video filmed by Orman Genel Müdürlüğü shows firefighting aircraft and ground operations against active forest fires in Turkey. Aircraft, including amphibious planes, fly over smoke-filled forested hills as crews work to contain the flames.

Multiple water bombers release large drops of water onto burning areas and smoldering vegetation. Thick gray smoke rises above green pine-covered slopes as firefighting teams continue their response.

Later footage from inside an aircraft captures a water drop over a burning hillside near a dirt road, with smoke and small flames visible below.

On July 31, 2026, Turkey’s General Directorate of Forestry continued intensive aerial and ground operations against multiple ongoing forest fires, including fires in the Susurluk district of Balıkesir and the Foça area of İzmir.

Firefighting planes and helicopters were used to battle the blazes as crews worked to bring the fires under control.
