Ceuta, Spain – Video filmed by X user Julio César Ruiz Aguilar shows large groups of migrants climbing a steep stone staircase built into a hillside. Migrants fill the steps and gather at the top near residential buildings.
Other migrants are seen walking along a roadside below a concrete wall and fence. The camera later pans to a beach area where many migrants are in the water or on the sand near a pier and breakwater, with more people standing on the structure under hazy skies.
The footage was recorded on July 30, 2026, when tens of thousands of people crossed from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. Many migrants crossed by swimming around the Tarajal breakwater or climbing nearby terrain.
The mass arrival overwhelmed local capacity and prompted the deployment of additional security forces, including the army.
