Wasco County, Oregon – Video and photos show the Grasshopper Fire burning near the Mount Hood National Forest area, with the wildfire growing rapidly across the region.
The fire affected areas near Sportsman Park, Pine Hollow, and Wamic as officials continued providing evacuation updates, shelter information, and road closure notices.
In late July 2026, the Grasshopper Fire expanded to more than 18,000–21,000 acres with low containment. Level 3 “Go Now” evacuations were issued for several communities as firefighters worked to protect homes and infrastructure.
The Oregon State Fire Marshal invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act as the response continued and the wildfire threatened surrounding areas.
