San Luis Obispo County, California – Fire engines worked along a roadway surrounded by blackened ground and smoldering oak woodland as smoke continued to rise from the Estrella Fire.

The video shows air tankers dropping bright pink fire retardant across the landscape under clear skies. A helicopter maneuvers over the fire area before landing in a dry agricultural field near vineyards and hills. Burned terrain, lingering smoke, and fire personnel are visible throughout.

The Estrella Fire began during the afternoon of July 29, 2026, near the 6400 block of Estrella Road, close to San Miguel and east of Paso Robles. It quickly expanded to about 35 acres of grass and oak woodland.

Firefighters, supported by air tankers and helicopters, stopped the fire’s forward rate of spread.

“The Estrella Fire is roughly 30-35 acres.”

By the morning of July 30, the fire was 85% contained, with no structures reported threatened. The cause remained under investigation.
