Community of Madrid, Spain – A helicopter flew over a residential town on July 28, 2026, as thick orange-brown wildfire smoke blanketed the landscape.

The aerial footage shows red-tiled roofs, streets and open areas beneath the heavy smoke haze, with mountains visible in the background.

Authorities lifted evacuation orders in Fresnedillas de la Oliva and Zarzalejo as conditions improved around the large wildfire complex in the Sierra Oeste area.

Confinement measures also ended in Santa María de la Alameda and most of Pelayos de la Presa.

Evacuation orders remained in place for the Mirador de Pelayos and Las Muas urbanizations.

Authorities urged residents to remain attentive to official information and follow emergency service instructions.
