Isle of Palms, South Carolina – Intense thunderstorms on July 26, 2026, brought flash flooding across Isle of Palms and nearby Mount Pleasant as several inches of rain fell in a short time.

Video filmed by Isle of Palms Police shows a residential street overwhelmed by floodwater under pouring rain. Water covers the roadway as heavy rain reduces visibility.

Palm trees line the flooded street, while a pedestrian crossing sign and mailboxes remain visible along the roadside.

Multiple roads, including sections of Palm Boulevard, were closed because of high water. Residents were urged to stay indoors if they did not need to drive.
