Trans Student’s Hysteric Reaction After Being Misgendered Ends With Arrest

Orange County, Florida – Bodycam footage shows University of Central Florida student Jarrett Vick, 27, involved in a confrontation with a campus police officer on February 5, 2025, after reacting to being misgendered.

The footage shows Vick screaming at the officer after the officer arrived at a campus building for an unrelated call. Vick tells the officer, “She! She! Just say the right pronoun!”

The officer tells Vick to lower his voice or he will be placed in handcuffs. Vick continues arguing with the officer, leading the officer to request backup.

The officer later removes pepper spray and orders Vick to calm down. A university employee attempts to help deescalate the situation as Vick continues yelling at officers.

The footage shows Vick later being taken into custody in handcuffs. According to the video, another officer used a Taser after Vick reportedly tried to kick and swing at officers.

Vick was charged with battery on law enforcement, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct on February 5, 2025. Court records show he pleaded not guilty to all three charges, and the cases were later marked as closed.
