Zaragoza, Spain – Aerial footage from a helicopter captures the Orés wildfire burning across hilly, forested terrain mixed with agricultural fields in the Zaragoza area.
Thick plumes of white and gray smoke rise from multiple active fire fronts as flames spread along ridgelines and through vegetation.
The camera moves over scorched and green landscapes, dirt tracks, and open fields while the wildfire continues to burn. A second clip shows a hillside with active flames advancing through scrub and trees under heavy smoke.
BRIF teams from Cuenca are being moved to another sector of the Orés wildfire to continue working where the situation requires.
Each change requires a new strategy, but the objective remains the same.
The wildfire, which began around July 15, 2026, has burned an estimated 7,600 to more than 12,000 hectares. Irregular winds have complicated firefighting efforts involving ground crews, the Military Emergency Unit, and aerial resources.
The fire has forced the evacuation of roughly 1,000 people from several towns, including Orés, Asín, Luesia, Uncastillo, Malpica de Arba, and Petilla de Aragón in Navarra.
Homes in Asín sustained damage as the blaze advanced.
