Val Verde County, Texas – A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped a vehicle during an Operation Lone Star traffic stop on US 277.

Dashcam and bodycam footage from the stop shows a black Hyundai Sonata being pulled over. A 6-year-old boy was found unrestrained in the back seat, and the driver could not identify the child.

Further investigation revealed the boy’s mother was concealed inside the vehicle’s trunk.

The driver, a human smuggler from Laredo, was arrested and faces felony smuggling charges.

The footage includes on-screen details of the incident dated June 30, 2026, and ends with the mugshot of the arrested smuggler.
