Deputy Uses Rope To Free Bear Trapped Inside Car In Colorado

Summit County, Colorado – A bear trapped inside a vehicle was safely released after deputies from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

Video from the incident shows a deputy using a rope to open the vehicle door from a safe distance while the animal remained inside.

As the door opens, the bear quickly exits the car and runs away from the area.

Officials used the incident to remind residents to remain bear and wildlife safe and to avoid leaving food or other attractants accessible to animals.

The sheriff’s office also encouraged residents to secure trash, remove bird feeders, and properly store food to help keep wildlife wild and communities safe.
