Utah, USA – Swirling dust devils are appearing across areas burned by the Iron and Cherry Fires as the wildfires approach full containment.

Footage shows columns of ash and dust spinning above recently burned landscapes, with loose soil, ash, and debris lifted by wind after vegetation was removed by the fires.

The videos capture post-fire conditions across charred terrain, where residual smoke and smoldering pockets in heavier fuels can remain visible even after containment efforts have progressed.

Officials warned that dust and ash can quickly reduce visibility on roadways and may resemble smoke inside the containment lines of the Iron and Cherry Fires.

Hot pockets within burned areas can remain active for some time, but these dust devils and ash whirls do not necessarily indicate the fires have escaped containment. People near fire perimeters are urged to use caution and observe the conditions from a safe distance.
