Pierce County, Washington, USA – Deputies and Animal Control officers responded after reports of a loose goat weaving through traffic near 122nd Street South and Park Avenue South, close to Pacific Lutheran University.

The incident took place on June 29 at around 4:30 p.m., when the animal was spotted moving through the area and creating a brief pursuit situation.

One deputy even attempted to communicate with the goat using what he believed to be “goat language,” but the animal continued to evade capture.

A 20-minute foot chase followed through the neighborhood as deputies and Animal Control worked together to contain the animal. Eventually, they were able to corner the goat and safely take it into custody.

The goat was transported to a local rescue farm, where it will be cared for while authorities attempt to locate its owner.

Authorities noted that the pursuit ended with no injuries, a successful capture, and a light-hearted outcome for the responding deputies.
