Custer County, Colorado, USA – Strong afternoon winds have caused the Aspen Acres wildfire to expand rapidly, with officials reporting a significant increase in fire size as conditions worsen.

Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for areas in Custer County south of Highway 96 to Lake Isabel. In nearby Pueblo County, the towns of Beulah and Rye are also under evacuation.

The main fire front is moving west toward Aspen Acres Campground as the blaze continues to spread.
