Caraballeda, La Guaira, Venezuela – Rescue teams pulled a small dog alive from the rubble of Residencias Karina in Caraballeda, where ongoing operations have continued after four days following the deadly twin earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela on June 24.

The earthquakes, measured at magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, caused widespread destruction across the region, including more than 100 collapsed buildings in La Guaira and significant damage in Caracas.

During the rescue operation, teams discovered the dog alive and in good health. The condition of the animal was confirmed at the scene by rescuers working through the debris.

Rescue workers stated: “We have found this little dog alive in Residencias Karina. We do not know its name, but it is in very good health.”

Authorities are now searching for the animal’s owner. People are being asked to approach rescue teams and provide photo or video proof to confirm ownership so the dog can be returned.

The discovery, shared publicly by President Nayib Bukele, has brought a rare moment of relief amid ongoing tragedy. Search operations continue in the affected areas as the death toll rises and teams keep working for more survivors.
