On the flight deck, one aircraft is positioned for operations with its cockpit canopy open and a pilot visible inside. A crew member in a green vest stands nearby as preparations are made for launch.

The jet powers forward as its rear nozzle angles downward and lift fan doors open, enabling a short takeoff directly from the amphibious assault ship’s deck.

In a separate sequence, another F-35 approaches the vessel and performs a controlled vertical landing. The aircraft settles onto the deck while crew members in yellow vests guide its positioning during touchdown.

The jets’ stealth design and STOVL capability are visible throughout the maneuvers as they operate above the open sea, with the ship’s island superstructure in view behind them.
