Air Tanker Dives Over Burning Valley In Dramatic Fire Retardant Strike

Eureka, Utah — An air tanker aircraft flies low over rugged, smoke-filled terrain as firefighters continue battling the Iron Fire near Eureka in Juab County. Evacuations remain in place while crews work to secure the fire perimeter.

A video recorded by Utah Fire Info shows the aircraft making a precise run over the active wildfire. As it passes over the valley, it releases a long, vivid pink trail of fire retardant that cuts across the landscape.

Thick columns of dark gray and black smoke rise from the burning hills behind the aircraft’s path. The sky above is filled with heavy smoke plumes, while dry brush and scattered trees remain visible in the foreground.

The Iron Fire has been mapped at 21,935 acres, expanding rapidly over the weekend of June 20-21, 2026, with zero containment. Driven by hot, dry conditions and described as human-caused, the blaze prompted full evacuations of Eureka.

Firefighters from multiple agencies, including structure protection crews and aerial support, continue working around the clock to hold the perimeter and protect nearby homes. Reports confirm that no primary structures have been lost so far.
