Norfolk, Virginia, United States – Local residents watched a fireworks display over the Elizabeth River as part of the SAIL 250 celebration in Norfolk on June 20, 2026.

The fireworks lit up the sky above the river as spectators gathered along the waterfront to observe the display during the event.

SAIL 250 Virginia celebrates America’s maritime heritage and the nation’s 250th anniversary by bringing together United States and international ships, Marines, Sailors, and community partners throughout Hampton Roads.

The event continues to unite military personnel, maritime organizations, and local communities across the region as part of the anniversary celebrations.
