Egypt Fans Flood Vancouver After Historic World Cup Victory

Vancouver, Canada – Large crowds of Egyptian football supporters filled an outdoor public space under bright blue skies as celebrations erupted following Egypt’s historic World Cup result.

Video filmed by X user JDF showed fans wearing red Egypt jerseys, many displaying Mohamed Salah’s name and number 11. Supporters waved Egyptian flags, raised their hands, clapped in rhythm, chanted together, and recorded the celebrations on their phones.

A large inflatable Egyptian flag or similar object moved above the crowd as people pushed forward during the celebrations. High-rise buildings and green trees surrounded the area, while a prominent “WE ARE VANCOUVER” sign stood in the background alongside tents and event structures.

Supporters of all ages packed closely together, creating a jubilant and unified atmosphere in a spontaneous display of national pride.

Egypt secured its first FIFA World Cup victory on June 21, 2026, defeating New Zealand 3-1 in Vancouver. The Pharaohs trailed at halftime before mounting a comeback with goals that included contributions from Mohamed Salah, who was named Man of the Match.

The victory marked Egypt’s first World Cup triumph in 92 years and sparked celebrations across the host city and in Egypt.
