New York City, United States – Thousands of people gathered in Times Square as the 24th Annual Solstice in Times Square took over the heart of the city with free yoga classes running from sunrise to sunset.
Video filmed by X user New York City Kopp showed hundreds of participants performing synchronized yoga poses on rows of teal mats spread across the Broadway pedestrian plazas. In the foreground, an instructor led a bridge pose from a raised platform while the crowd held the position together.
Bright billboards for Levi’s, Coca-Cola, American Eagle, and other brands towered above the scene as sunlight illuminated the area. People of different ages and fitness levels moved through downward dog, lunges, and seated twists beneath the famous neon lights and surrounding skyscrapers.
Spectators stood behind barriers along the edges while a large video screen displayed advertisements behind the participants. The event temporarily transformed the busy commercial center of the city into a space focused on calm movement and collective concentration.
The 24th Annual Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga attracted thousands of participants for free sessions held on June 21, 2026. Organized by the Times Square Alliance, the annual tradition celebrates the summer solstice with guided classes for both beginners and experienced practitioners, turning one of the world’s busiest intersections into a shared place for mindfulness.
