New York City – Video filmed by X user Tyler captured tense scenes early on the morning of the New York Knicks NBA championship parade as fans were pushed out of viewing areas long before the event was due to begin.

At 7:13 a.m., Tyler reported: “7:13 AM been in line for the Knicks parade since 6:15 they stopped letting people in. Actually started pushing people OUT. The parade doesn’t start for another 2 and a half hours.”

Large numbers of supporters wearing blue jerseys and other Knicks gear gathered along Manhattan streets hoping to secure spots inside designated viewing pens. By 7:13 a.m., police and event staff had closed entry to the packed areas and were actively pushing fans back and out despite the parade not being scheduled to start for another two and a half hours.

The scene showed dense crowds gathered behind metal barriers while uniformed officers stood nearby. Some fans wore caps and carried drinks as frustrated supporters gestured and spoke among themselves after being turned away from the full viewing zones.

The incident took place during the Knicks’ victory parade celebrating the franchise’s first NBA title in decades. Thousands arrived early to claim prime positions along the Canyon of Heroes route, but the massive turnout overwhelmed capacity, forcing authorities to shut down access well before the parade began.

The NYPD later confirmed that all viewing pens were full, leaving many fans disappointed after waiting in line for hours.
