Coast Guard Helicopter Executes Offshore Rescue As Fisherman Airlifted 92 Miles From Georgia Coast

Offshore Brunswick, United States – A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater helicopter crew carried out a medical evacuation for a 56-year-old man aboard a fishing vessel located 92 miles offshore from Brunswick, Georgia.

The helicopter team hoisted the individual from the vessel during the operation conducted on June 12, 2026.

After the rescue, the man was transported by air to St. Simons Island Airport in Georgia.

Upon arrival, he was handed over to emergency medical services for further treatment and care.

The operation took place in open waters far from shore, requiring aerial extraction to bring the fisherman safely to medical support on land.
