Butler County, Ohio – Deputies were called to a residence on Oxford Middletown Road after a herd of eight loose goats was found trespassing in a backyard, leading to an unusual roundup attempt involving one animal that managed to escape after jumping onto the roof of an SUV.

Authorities reported that seven adult goats and one juvenile goat had entered the property without permission. The homeowners confirmed the animals did not belong there, and deputies contacted the rightful owners to address the situation.

Efforts to move the herd were complicated as the goats resisted leaving the property. Deputies attempted to guide them out, with repeated coaxing and the use of snacks, but the animals remained reluctant to depart their newly occupied area.

Eventually, officers succeeded in rounding up seven of the goats and returning them to their owners. However, one goat broke away from custody during the operation.

The missing animal jumped off the roof of an SUV and fled into a nearby wooded area, escaping capture. It was described as a white male goat with brown markings on the right side of its face, characterized as short, highly stubborn, and extremely mischievous.

Authorities noted that the goat is not considered dangerous. However, they warned it may still be difficult to capture and humorously described it as potentially “armed with an attitude.”
