Vacaville, California – Fire crews contained a fast-moving grass fire on Sunday evening outside Vacaville near Lyon Road on the north side of Interstate 80 after flames spread across dry vegetation.
CAL FIRE, Vacaville Fire Department, Vacaville Fire Protection District, and other responding agencies worked together to stop the wind-driven blaze as it moved through the area.
The fire burned a total of 10.47 acres before firefighters were able to fully bring it under control.
Crews battled the flames under windy conditions that helped push the fire across open grassland near the highway corridor.
Firefighters focused on stopping the spread and protecting nearby areas as multiple agencies coordinated containment efforts on the ground.
Officials confirmed that the fire reached 100 percent containment by 9 p.m. on Sunday evening.
