Clovis, United States – An animal control officer rescued a tiny kitten that was heard crying for help from inside a storm drain in California.

Officials said a local resident alerted police after hearing the kitten’s cries, prompting officers to request assistance from animal services personnel.

The kitten was found trapped several feet below ground inside the drain.

An animal control officer used a net to carefully guide the kitten up the steep side of the drain until it was close enough to be pulled to safety.

The kitten, now named Stormy, was taken to a shelter where it was examined by a veterinarian and vaccinated.

Stormy is currently being cared for in a foster home and is expected to be made available for adoption soon.
