Pines – The Pines Fire Department marked the start of summer break for students at Pine Elementary School with a traditional celebration involving fire engines.

Each year, firefighters assist in sending the students off for summer by allowing them to ride under the deck guns of fire engines. The department describes it as a recurring event carried out in coordination with the school.

The activity is part of ongoing cooperation between the fire department and the school, which works together on various initiatives throughout the year.

The department noted that the event is intended as a fun experience for everyone involved as students begin their summer break.
