Murcia, Spain – Videos filmed by X user Luis Gestoso show multiple views of an active forest fire burning near Cresta del Gallo in the Murcia region on the afternoon of June 2, 2026.

In the accompanying post, the user warned that a wildfire was burning in Murcia and expressed support for firefighters battling the blaze near Cresta del Gallo, as well as for residents affected in Los Garres and other nearby pedanias.

The footage shows flames advancing through dry vegetation on hillsides and across forested terrain. Thick smoke rises from the fire front as different angles reveal the extent of the burning area, the intensity of the flames on the slopes and the proximity of the wildfire to populated zones.

The videos document the rapid spread of the blaze and the difficult conditions faced by emergency teams on the ground.

The fire is the same major wildfire declared at around 15:00 on June 2 in the pedanias of Los Garres and Lages. The blaze has already consumed more than 177 hectares.

The wildfire prompted the preventive evacuation of approximately 100 homes because of heavy smoke and the risk to nearby residences. Authorities activated the regional emergency plan, Plan Infomur, at situation 2.

More than 300 personnel, including forest brigades, firefighters, police and the Unidad Militar de Emergencias (UME), have been deployed to the emergency.

Officials report that the fire front closest to homes has been contained and is evolving favorably. However, the wildfire continues moving through mountainous terrain toward areas such as La Alberca, while several local roads remain closed to traffic.
