Madrid, Spain – A bee swarm established inside a wall was safely removed following a controlled procedure designed to protect both people and the insect colony.
The operation began after the hive was located within the structure, where responders worked carefully to access it without causing harm.
Wax frames were then transferred into a swarm box.
The box was placed close to the original location, alongside the open hive, allowing the remaining bees to regroup and move into it naturally.
Later in the evening, once the colony had regrouped, it was collected to support its recovery and conservation.
The procedure followed a protocol that prioritizes public safety while also preserving the bee colony.
