San Giuliano Milanese, Italy – Emergency crews were deployed across the south-eastern area of the city after severe weather caused multiple incidents on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Authorities reported around 30 separate interventions in the region, with the most serious situation developing in San Giuliano Milanese.

A lightning strike is believed to have triggered a fire inside a 1,500 square meter hay barn at Cascina Rancate, creating major damage concerns for the agricultural site.

Around 60 firefighters worked through the night to control the emergency and secure the area.

A total of 510 cattle were saved during the operation, preventing further loss at the farm.

Firefighters are currently continuing cleanup efforts and safety operations to stabilize the site following the blaze.
