Titusville, Florida – A dramatic nighttime video filmed from the “space chicken farm” in Titusville, Florida, captured the moment Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket test ended in a powerful explosion on May 28, 2026.
The footage shows a dark rural scene with silhouetted trees and illuminated farm buildings in the foreground beneath a cloudy sky, with the moon visible above.
A sudden orange-red glow erupts on the distant horizon, rapidly spreading and brightening the entire sky. The clouds become intensely illuminated as the firelight pulses outward in a dramatic display.
The video matched the original post text, which stated, “I just randomly saw Blue Origin blow up from space chicken farm. Oof. They ran a test in obv lightning charge atmo tho not sure that had much to do with it.”
The explosion occurred during Blue Origin’s static fire test of the uncrewed New Glenn rocket at Launch Complex 36 in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The 320-foot rocket, which was being prepared for a mission carrying Amazon Project Kuiper satellites, suffered a major anomaly that led to the explosion and extensive damage to the launch pad. No injuries were reported, and the satellites were not onboard at the time.
The same incident was also captured in recordings from Tampa, Orlando, the SpaceX construction site, and Peacock Beach, marking a major setback for Jeff Bezos’ company and NASA’s Artemis program, which had planned to rely on New Glenn for cargo transport and future lunar mission support.
