Eastern Pacific Ocean – On May 26, a lethal kinetic strike was carried out on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations under the direction of the commander of U.S. Southern Command, Gen. Francis L. Donovan.
Joint Task Force Southern Spear executed the strike after intelligence confirmed the vessel was moving along established narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was actively involved in narco-trafficking operations.
During the operation, one male narco-terrorist was killed. Two other individuals survived the engagement.
Following the incident, U.S. Southern Command immediately informed the U.S. Coast Guard to activate the Search and Rescue system for the surviving individuals.
No U.S. military personnel were harmed during the operation.
