Nanuet, United States – Dashcam footage has been released as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of Bravo Nondo, who was killed in a motor vehicle incident involving an off-duty New York City Police Department officer in Rockland County.

The crash took place on December 18, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m. The off-duty officer, driving his personal vehicle, was merging onto the southbound New York State Thruway at Exit 14 when he struck Mr. Nondo, who had exited a stopped car. Mr. Nondo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment and did not sustain significant physical injuries.

The Office of Special Investigation within the New York Attorney General’s Office released dashboard camera footage connected to the case. Officials said the release is part of an effort to increase transparency and strengthen public trust in investigations handled by the office.

Under New York State Executive Law Section 70-b, the Office of Special Investigation reviews incidents in which a police or peace officer may have caused a death through action or omission, whether on or off duty. If the review indicates possible involvement, a full investigation is launched.

Authorities also stated that releasing the footage does not represent any conclusion about criminal guilt or innocence, nor does it indicate whether any individual may face charges.
