Massive Tornado Tears Across Kansas Farmland During Severe Weather Outbreak

Blue Springs, United States – Video filmed by X user Matt DeAngelis captured a large rotating tornado on the ground near Blue Springs, Kansas, during the afternoon of May 18, 2026.

The footage shows a thick, dark condensation funnel stretching down from a massive low-hanging wall cloud as it moves across open farmland and rural fields. A wide column of dust and debris swirls violently at the base of the tornado while the powerful vortex advances steadily across the landscape.

Trees, power lines, and open countryside are visible in both the foreground and background beneath dark storm clouds as the camera follows the tornado’s path.

The video represents Matt DeAngelis’s personal view of one of the confirmed tornadoes produced during the severe weather outbreak that generated multiple twisters across eastern Kansas that day.

He shared the footage in response to another storm chaser’s clips, writing: “Awesome catch man! Here was my view.”
