Northeastern Nigeria, Nigeria – U.S. Africa Command carried out additional kinetic strikes against ISIS militants in northeastern Nigeria on May 17, 2026, in coordination with the Government of Nigeria.

According to the command, intelligence confirmed that the targets were ISIS fighters.

Complete assessments of the operation are still ongoing.

U.S. Africa Command stated that no U.S. or Nigerian forces were harmed during the strikes.
