London, United Kingdom – Thousands of people filled the streets of central London during the “Unite the Kingdom” rally on May 17, 2026, as large crowds carrying Union Jack and St George’s Cross flags packed roads and sidewalks.
The merged video, filmed by X user Escape with Emily, shows a dense crowd gathered along a wide street lined with historic buildings, trees, and barriers. The camera moves shakily through the scene as flags wave overhead and many participants wear or hold them while standing across the roadway and pavements.
Pink and red flare smoke drifts through the air as the crowd fills the area under an overcast sky. A second clip shows a wider perspective down the route, revealing the size of the gathering stretching into the distance behind metal barriers.
The rally was organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, and focused on anti-immigration themes with slogans including “stop the boats” and “Britain is for the British.”
Metropolitan Police estimated attendance at around 50,000 to 60,000 people, describing it as one of the larger right-wing mobilisations in recent years, though smaller than organisers claimed.
The event took place on the same day as a rival pro-Palestine Nakba Day march elsewhere in London, with around 4,000 officers deployed to keep the groups separated.
