Dayton, United States – Police officers responded to a report of a pig loose in the middle of a road on May 11, 2026, in the 1000 block of Creighton Ave.
Bodycam footage shows officers walking along a sunny residential street lined with houses, garages, and trash bins as they locate a large white pig named Hamlet on cracked pavement.
Two officers, one in full uniform marked “DAYTON POLICE” and another in a white t-shirt, approach the animal and begin guiding it along the street. One officer reaches down to pet its back and side while directing it toward a fenced yard.
The officers continue moving the pig through the area until it is guided through a gate and into a backyard, where it is secured.
At the fence, the pig’s owner, a man wearing a leopard-print shirt, arrives to take custody of his escaped pet.
The encounter concludes with officers successfully containing the animal in the fenced yard and reuniting it with its owner.
The footage was posted with an explanation that officers located the pig, helped secure it, and returned it to its owner.
