Parker, Colorado, USA – A police officer successfully rescued a skunk after it was found with a cup stuck over its head, managing the situation without being sprayed.
The incident happened after 3 a.m. on April 27, according to police, who later released body camera footage of the unusual rescue.
The video shows the officer first trying to carefully remove the cup using a catchpole, making several cautious attempts to avoid harming the animal.
After those efforts, the officer made a quick decision to remove the cup by hand in a single fast motion, successfully freeing the skunk.
Officials said the animal then “waddled off” without injury and “without registering a stinky complaint.”
Police used the incident to remind residents that litter can pose serious risks to wildlife.
Authorities urged the public to help keep the area clean, warning that discarded items can trap animals and create dangerous situations.
