Daytona Beach, Florida, USA – A potentially dangerous situation unfolded after a venomous snake appeared at the front door of a residential home, prompting a response from animal control officers.

The Daytona Beach Police Department reported that two officers were dispatched after receiving a call about a snake near the entrance of the property.

When they arrived, they found the animal positioned beside the front door, resting against an exterior wall.

The snake was identified as a highly venomous Florida cottonmouth.

Video from the scene shows officers carefully using snake hooks to lift the snake from the area.

The snake was then placed into a bucket for safe transport and removal.

Authorities reported that the situation was handled safely, with the animal removed from the residential location without injury.
