Heavy Rain Creates Waterfall-Like Streams On Colombia’s Cerros De Mavecure

Guainía, Colombia – A handheld video filmed by X user Oscar LR captures a dramatic rainy view of the Cerros de Mavecure rising above the jungle along the Inírida River.

Filmed from a small boat on the muddy brown river, the footage slowly pans across the massive granite monoliths as heavy rain falls beneath a gray overcast sky.

The intense rainfall creates striking white streams running down the steep rock faces, making the mountains appear covered in thin waterfall-like lines.

Fog and mist surround the towering formations, giving the landscape an ethereal atmosphere while dense green jungle stretches across the riverbank below.

A small white motorboat with a Yamaha outboard engine is visible on the sandy shore in the foreground, highlighting the enormous scale of the natural landmark.

The footage was recorded on May 9, 2026, at Resguardo Venado near the Cerros de Mavecure, one of Colombia’s best-known and sacred natural sites in the Amazon region.

The video was posted with the caption “Today’s one.”

The three hills are known for their distinctive striped appearance and cultural importance to indigenous communities, while also attracting eco-tourism visitors from across the country.

Many viewers in the replies described the rainy scene as “dreamlike” and a rare privilege to witness.
