Fire Tears Through Apartment Block On London’s Doddington Estate

Battersea, London, United Kingdom – Video filmed by X user Max Haller shows a fierce flat fire tearing through an upper floor of a multi-storey apartment block on the Doddington Estate in south London.

The footage is made up of three shaky handheld clips recorded from the estate courtyard below. Bright orange flames can be seen roaring through shattered windows and across a balcony area as thick black and grey smoke pours heavily into the clear blue sky.

The camera pans and tilts unsteadily between the burning flat and nearby buildings. Green trees and visible “Doddington Estate” signage frame the foreground of the scene.

One clip shows a local resident wearing a black-and-white varsity jacket standing nearby while filming the fire on his phone.

The video also captures the blaze intensifying as larger amounts of smoke billow from the apartment. Firefighters are later seen at the scene working from below to tackle the fire.

The footage was posted with the caption “Doddinton estate fire. Battersea” followed by an update reading: “Firemen are out,” documenting the dramatic moments of the incident on May 11, 2026.
