Young Hawk Soars Free After Rehabilitation In Spain

Castilla y Leon, Spain – A video shared by Naturaleza Castilla y Leon on September 25, 2025, at 17:49 UTC captures the release of a young hawk back into the wild following rehabilitation.

The footage begins with the hawk inside a netted enclosure, practicing its flight under careful supervision. It is then placed in a carrier and transported to an open field. Initially struggling, the bird soon takes off and flies successfully, demonstrating the success of the rehabilitation process.

Multiple professionals from the Junta de Castilla y Leon’s wildlife rehabilitation center (CRAS) were involved in the effort, highlighting a collaborative approach to conservation.

The release occurs amid recent extreme weather events in Europe, including flooding in northern Italy, which have increased the need for wildlife rehabilitation. Such efforts are part of broader strategies to address the impacts of habitat loss and climate change on wildlife populations.
