Estes Park, Colorado – Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers rescued a young bull moose that had fallen into a canal and could not escape on its own.
A video posted by CPW shows officers working alongside Bureau of Reclamation personnel to free the stranded animal. Rescuers carefully held the moose’s antlers to keep it steady, tranquilized it, and secured a rope around its midsection.
The moose was then lifted out of the water by a crane and safely returned to dry land.
CPW reported that the moose “survived with minimal injuries” and was released back into the wild.
