Bierge, Spain – A 20-year-old American canyoneer was rescued Sunday after suffering a shoulder dislocation.

The injury happened after she jumped into the water in the Mascún Superior canyon in Bierge, Huesca.

Huesca’s aerial unit, GREIM Huesca, and a 061 medical team were activated around noon.

They flew over the area and found the injured woman.

She was treated on site, then lifted by crane cycle and evacuated to the nearby town of Rodellar.

She remains there under care.
